She is over the moon with joy after announcing her first pregnancy. Singer and songwriter Rethabile Khumalo and her partner whom she wishes to not name are expecting their first baby. Over the weekend, her close friends and family members hosted a baby shower themed all-white, where the Umlilo singer announced that the baby was going to be a boy. "The baby shower was on Saturday at Winchester Hills. With our real friends who are important to us. We are excited about Culo and we are celebrating the EP also titled Culo, and the music video will be dropping soon," Rethabile told ZiMoja.
LITTLE RETHA
No one saw the pregnancy coming, especially since she had been gigging, and doing her usual dance theatrics on stage. But on Sunday, Rethabile revealed the pregnancy after a baby shower. "I am so happy," Rethabile said. "I am so grateful for the support from my mom and friends." When Rethabile found out she was expecting, she was ecstatic. "I have always wanted to be a mom and have purpose and someone to live for. I also want to give my mom a grandchild and just make our home full." Rethabile said, as a singer, she knows it will be a challenge to balance motherhood and music but said she has a strong support system.
WINNIE KHUMALO'S JOY
Rethabile's mom, Winnie Khumalo said she cannot wait to be a grandmother, again. Her eldest son Thando, had his first child some time ago and now Rethabile is making her a second-time granny. "It's not the first time. I am excited about Retha because she waited for the right time," Winnie said. "I am looking forward to being a granny to baby Culo."Winnie said that she is happy to have made it this far considering that a few years ago she fell ill and was afraid she would not make it. "I used to think what if I never get to see my grandchildren. But since becoming a granny, I feel complete and grateful that I have lived," she said. When she found out that Rethabile was expecting, she was at home. "We live together, and we talk about everything. She was hiding it in the beginning and waiting for the right time to tell me the news."
