Shimza's grateful after terrifying plane experience

DJ Shimza

Popular South African DJ Shimza recently had a scare while flying back to Mzansi from Paris. This is after the flight, which had taken off from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, encountered an engine problem just 1 hour and 30 minutes into the journey, forcing it to turn back to Paris.

Despite the unexpected situation, Shimza says he remained calm and collected throughout the ordeal. "I'm really not scared of such things, I believe in technology and the fact that if God decides, there's nothing I can do. I was not panicking at all," he said. Shimza, who is preparing for his highly anticipated gig: Kunye this weekend, says although his experience was nerve wracking, the only thing he was worried about was to miss his own event. "It was chaotic inside the aircraft, but my concern was the people who bought tickets and booked their tables, other than that I knew there was nothing I could do," he said.

Shimza is one of the most popular DJs in South Africa, known for his unique blend of house and techno music. He has been making waves in the music industry for years and has played at some of the biggest festivals and clubs around the world. The DJ is also the founder of KUNYE, a non-profit organisation that aims to empower young people and upcoming producers to introduce SA talent to new audiencesaround the world in a celebration of culture. Kunye has grown so well and going to other provinces and I'm excited to be going to KZN ,he said. Despite the unexpected turn of events, Shimza says he remains positive and focused on his mission to empower young people in South Africa.
