What started as an honest opinion turned into a twar of insults. This week veteran actor Sello Maake KaNcube was just sharing his views on Twitter when Kelly Khumalo’s sister, Zandi, went for the jugular. Having, lost a son in 2011 to a car accident, the actor, sympathised with the Meyiwa family. But his tweet seems to have rubbed Zandi the wrong way. She did not hold back as she started hailing insults at the actor.
This week, The Senzo Meyiwa saw another postponement after Zandi, who was one of the people who were inside the house when the soccer star was gunned down, brought an application to stop the media from covering her testimony live but it was decided that her visuals should not be shown but her audio could be captured.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Speaking to ZiMoja, award winning thespian says he applies wisdom whenever he reads something or before he comments on anything, whether about him or a stranger.
"I try to exercise emotional intelligence when I read anything on social media or any publication for that matter. Upon reading her post, I felt more sorry for her than angry, " says Sello adding that it is not his responsibility to go around reprimanding ill-disciplined children, hence he decided to ignore her.
"I’m not one to reprimand other people’s children, that’s a job for their parents. As parents all we can do is try raise our children the best way we know how but that doesn’t mean we must be held accountable for how they turnout or behave in society at large," he adds.
HE HAS NEVER MET ZANDI
Sello says he has never met Zandi and does not think their paths will cross. "I don’t know the lady in question. My tweet was more emphatic towards the Meyiwa family as whole."
Sello points out that our justice systems seems to be doing more harm to the Meyiwa family than ensuring that they leave no stone unturned on this matter.
"Our nation and society is wounded and criminals seem to be in control and we are practically held hostage as a country," he concludes
