For two years, they served couple goals posting pictures of them being lovey dovey. The couple even went on to tattoo each other's names on their wedding fingers as a sign of commitment to one another. But over the long weekend, it's said that actor Sello Maake Ka Ncube reportedly backed out of lobola payment for his wife Pearl, which is a cause for concern for his new marriage. This is after his delegation are said to have failed to show up at Pearl's family home in Soweto for the last leg of the lobola payment. ZiMoja has learnt that the 63-year-old actor had cold feet.

It appears that trouble may be brewing in the love life of actor the former Generations star despite vowing that Pearl was the love of his life. According to a source close to the couple, the family meeting was scheduled and Pearl left her matrimonial home to Soweto to prepare for the ceremony. The source told ZiMoja that Pearl's family waited the whole day for Maake-Ka Ncube's family to arrive to no avail. The source also revealed that Maake is reconsidering his commitment. Apparently, his family and friends have concerns about Pearl's strong personality and focus. "Sello still lives with his ex-wife, daughter, grandchildren and Pearl in the same house. It seems like he is dealing with a lot right now. While he loves Pearl, I think he's struggling to balance his family and new marriage. Despite nothing going on between him and his ex-wife, their shared history might be adding to the tension," said the source.

It's said that after the incident, Pearl has not returned to their matrimonial home as she is still angry and embarrassed by what he did to her. "Pearl is not someone to be underestimated. She is both beautiful and intelligent," said another source, adding that she helped revive Maake-Ka Ncube's brand. The source adds that people close to the actor also feel like Pearl is exerting too much control, especially when it comes to financial affairs. "They seem to be forgetting that not only did Pearl make his brand stronger again, but she also has been making sure that he is making money. That woman is educated, articulate, and skilled in client communication, setting her apart from many other managers and agencies. She is the real deal," adds the source.

ZiMoja has learnt that although the couple had a traditional wedding ceremony two years ago, they did this without the groom having completed paying the lobola as per African custom. According to the source, Pearl is free spirit she did not mind doing things differently. "They did not conform to the traditional norms of doing things, they were just excited about being together,' adds the source. When asked why they went on with the marriage celebration without Maake-Ka Ncube paying all the lobola, Pearl said she does not have to explain herself to anyone. She said her husband's delegation arrived late for the lobola payment and that they were not allowed because according to her culture such things are supposed to be done early in the day. "I won't explain myself to anyone.We all do things differently Ntate Sello and his family did come but it was already after 5pm and according to our customs, we don't accept lobola late,' she added. Maake-Ka Ncube could not be reached for comment as Pearl said he was sick.
