The former beauty queen turned pharmacist was involved in a freak accident after she fell down a flight of stairs. She was accidentally pushed by a tourist while trying to take a selfie.

ACCIDENTALLY TRIPPED BY TOURIST

She told her followers on social media that she nearly lost her life, but she is grateful that she is still alive. "I was accidentally tripped by a tourist while she was taking photographs,' she said. She said the incident took place while on stairs from the lighthouse at Cape Point. "She walked backward into me, tripping me down two steps. She tried to get the lighthouse in focus and took one step too far,' she said

SHE SPENT FOUR MONTHS IN HOSPITAL

Naicker, who was rushed to Netcare Hospital by helicopter, spent nearly four months in hospital. She said she is thankful that she was only injured in the leg."Even though I'm thankful that I did not injure my head, I did incur a serious injury,' she said. The 44-year-old, who is currently wheelchair-bound said she is learning to walk again."I have been in a rehabilitation hospital and making good progress. It's nearly three months since the injury and I still choose to not make the significant happenings in my life public,' she added. Naicker who has been shown nothing but love by both her international and local fans, has thanked them for the support and concern they showed towards her. "Heartfelt thanks for your calls, messages, emails, DM's, comments, well wishes, prayers, care and concern. "I'm thankful to each of you. Without exaggerating, there have been hundreds of messages I've not been able to respond to, including several inquiries about how I got injured as well as the status quo of my recovery,' she said.
