IsiZulu newsreader leaves SABC

Noxolo Mtshali, the former child-star who grew up gracing the TV screens is finally bowing out. Mtshali announced that she left the SABC last week Wednesday. She started working for the public broadcaster at the age of 15 when she presented the kids news in 2009.

SHE SHARED THE NEW ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Born at the dawn of democracy in 1994, Mtshali has been a darling to the young and old alike with her unique way of presenting IsiZulu news. She then moved from presenting to doing the weather report for the main news bulletin and later anchored the lunchtime and main evening bulletin. Mtshali grew in her career when she started presenting a three-hour breakfast show titled Ekhaya Jikelele. She said in her post: "There is nothing I loved more than ukufunda izindaba zesiZulu, ukuqhakambisa ulimi lwethu (There is nothing more I enjoyed than reading the IsiZulu news. It elevated our language). I learnt a lot; I grew so much as a news anchor and as a presenter."

She added, "I am heartbroken to announce that 27/03 was my last bulletin at the SABC Zulu desk. Thank you @sabcnews for the opportunity. Thank you so much to my wonderful audience who always always showed me theee greatest love, sending messages of appreciation and support. I love you so much sizwe sikaPhunga noMageba and also a lot of non-Zulu speaking people who tuned in even when they couldn't understand a word that was uttered. Unkulunkulu anibusise. (God bless you)."
