Rantseli family takes next step

Marc Rantshelli passed away last year

Alex Rantseli, from the famous Marc Alex, an 80s pop group, recently announced on social media that his mother has completed her mourning period and has stopped wearing her mourning clothes, three months after the passing of Marc- who died at 58. The younger Rantseli, Alex, wrote on his Facebook timeline: "MaRantseli got out of mourning clothes yesterday and my brother Marc continues to rest in peace. We will miss him as life continues."

HE DIED AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Marc passed away last year in November after a short illness, leaving behind his younger brother Alex and their mother. The duo gained fame in the South African music industry in the late 1980s with their crossover hit song "Quick Quick," which topped the charts at number 1 on many radio stations. The Soweto born pop stars, became famous at a time when apartheid was rearing its ugly head and their songs were played in both black and white radio stations. The news of Marc's passing last year came as a shock to many fans, friends and family members.

SUFFERED FROM BRAIN ANEURYSM

Alex told the mourners last year that his brother had a brain aneurysm and had been in and out of hospital over the past three years.

Alex's announcement this weekend was met out pour of love and support from fans and well-wishers who have been following the duo's musical career since the 1980s. Many have took to social media to offer words of comfort to MaRantseli and Alex. The completion of the mourning period is a significant milestone for MaRantseli and her family. Although the loss of a loved one is never easy, it is through the love and support of those around them that they will find the strength to move forward.
