Unworthy to be alive, depressed, unloved, and wanting to and wanting to end it all. This is how actress Londeka Sishi, who stars in Showmax’s Adulting felt before having her baby daughter. Sishi opens up to ZiMoja about how she wanted to commit suicide because she had lost her purpose of living.
SAVED BY HER PREGNANCY
Before she was approached by Showmax, she had given up on her dream of becoming an actress because all the doors she knocked on were shut on her face. "I remember that falling pregnant is the only thing that stopped me from killing myself. Before my daughter Liyana, who is now five years old, my life was not worth living," she says. Sishi has learned not to take people’s issues and make them hers. "Apart from my child being my strength, I have also learned not to take things personally and get worked out by small things," Sishi adds. "There is also healing in praying and meditating especially when one feels overwhelmed by things. Growth also comes in different ways. In most cases, we turn to rush God’s process instead of believing in God’s word. I am a firm believer and am more optimistic and positive when it comes to life."
WORKING WITH THEMBINKOSI MTHEMBU
Sishi excitedly speaks about working alongside Thembinkosi Mthembu, who plays Bonga in the drama series, Adulting. She jokingly says how she’s had a crush on the man who plays her love interest in the series. "The crush is gone now, we are all good. He has and continues to teach me a lot about the industry." She is often approached by men in direct messaging and on social media with proposals but laughs them off and hints that fame has brought a lot of attention to her from other male celebrities.
