Moja LOVE's drug-busting show Sizo'kthola is allegedly being targeted by drug lords and top politicians. This comes after the channel executives met with police from Tshwane this week who said they were ordered to effect arrest on Sizo'kthola bodyguards on assault allegations after a drug bust in Soshanguve.
DRUG BUST
According to the channel, the show's new host Xolani Maphanga and his crew went to a house in Soshanguve outside Tshwane this week after receiving a tip-off from a police constable alleging that there was a family dealing in drugs in the area. The family, led by a woman called Tebogo, allegedly manufactures and sells drugs at the property. In a statement, the channel said they met with the SAPS team after a case was opened against Maphanga's bodyguards and they wanted to meet them. "This is a pure allegation against the production team which is doing a great job in eradicating drugs from the streets. The production works hand in hand with the SAPS. When the team arrived, it was revealed that the whole family partakes in the dealing of narcotics," the channel said in a statement.
CHANNEL WORRIED POLITICIAN INTERFERE WITH POLICE WORK
The channel also said that the police officers who visited their offices said they received an order from the SAPS provincial office to effect the arrest. "They spoke about getting pressure from the top politician regarding the assault case opened against the bodyguards because there was political unrest in the area because of the incident. We are worried when politicians are interfering with the work of the police. We will also investigate the claim by the drug lord as we don't believe our third-party bodyguards can be in the position to intimidate a person," the statement said. The statement added that when the crew arrived at the first location, they found a corrupt cop collecting money from the drug lord.
THE SHOW HAS RECOVERED DRUGS WORTH R3 MILLION
Moja LOVE also said that they have new processes when shooting the show where they have also introduced a unit called the DAG K9 Services, based in West Rand. "We use highly trained sniffer dogs to detect the drugs. There is no need for any forceful measures. As a channel, we will continue to fight the spread of drugs in South Africa and our communities, with the help of law enforcement and communities," the statement read. They added that with the help of the sniffer dogs and their tactical team, they have recovered drugs to the value of R3 million. We will do so by following the laws and regulations of South Africa. We are happy to be working with DAG K9 Services and our tactical team. We have recovered narcotics to the value of R3 million. Earlier this month, a Russian drug lord, allegedly ordered a hit on the life of the channel CEO Aubrey Tau and Maphanga after a drug bust at a drug den allegedly run by the drug lord. A private investigator revealed that the drug lord contracted hitmen and offered to pay R500 000 for the lives of the pair. It is alleged that Chapo uses kids to sell drugs to school kids in Soweto and Lanseria.
