A police sergeant will now face a charge of murder after the man he allegedly shot died in hospital. Seargant Nditsheni Lefty Mphephu (44) was initially charged with attempted murder of his landlord but the charge was changed to murder when the victim succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The incident happened on Monday the 20th in Makwarela Township in Thohoyandou, Limpopo.
KILLED FOR LOUD MUSIC

Mashaba said the police opened an attempted murder case, and IPID was notified. "The suspect was arrested on Tuesday 21 November 2023, in Vuwani village. He appeared before the Thohoyandou Magistrates Court on 21 November and was remanded in custody." He said the suspect would appear again on the 29th of November facing a charge of murder.
