Nonhle Thema making a comeback

Nonhle Thema was an MC at an event over the weekend

Media personality Nonhle Thema is slowly making a comeback into the world of showbiz. The former Zababala actress and brand ambassador of Dark & Lovely was the host and MC of same brand on Saturday night.

WOMAN OF GOD

Thema was dropped by the hair brand as their ambassador after a social media rant more than ten years ago and also lost endorsements with a number of brands.

It was evident over the weekend that she and the brand are back on good terms when she hosted and was an MC at their event when they were launching their new brand ambassador, Wendy Gumede. Thema has become a different person that during her interview with ZiMoja, she didn't finish her sentence without including the word God. She even quoted from The Book of Job 8:7 to describe that she is grown up. "Your latter days will be far greater than the beginning," she said. "I'm in my grown-up years. I'm doing things God's way. I'm being directed by Him, so what He wants me to do, I do."

"When I was in my younger years, I was doing things my way. The change in me is now fully immersed in God, in Jesus Christ. I'm following what my purpose is and what I'm here for, and not what I want. It's about what I was born for. I'm reserved and very calm. I'm very different from the beginning."

SHE TOOK A BACK SEAT

Thema had disappeared from the showbiz scene a few years ago after she went on a tweeter rant where she called people poor and that she was coming from a rich family. "Most people hate on me because I'm rich and I'm great. Keep hating, I understand you wish you had my cash, beauty and brains. but shame it will never happen," she said in one tweet. At the time, she was one of the faces on demand on TV. Her father, Derrick Thema was a respected journalist and great editor of his time, while her mother, Cynthia Shange, is a legendary actress and former beauty queen. Thema and her mother Cynthia even appeared together on Zabalaza.

'PRAY TO UNDERSTAND MONEY"

When things went south for her, Thema cautioned younger stars to be careful of the decisions they make, especially involving money. In her interview with ZiMoja last year, she said: "Too much money young turned me into a monster in my 20s." She added,"If you are not ready, money is not good. Pray to understand money so it can be good for you." With a new change in her life, she said: "I will be hosting a Master Class on how to do exactly what I'm doing now. I'll teach people how to rebuild themselves and manifest their ideal lives."
