The legal counsel for the Ndimande brothers, linked to the murders of Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane, claims that the accused lives are in danger and the matter should not be brought to South Africa. Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande appeared at the Manzini Magistrates Court in eSwatini for their extradition. The two brothers were arrested in February after their co-accused were nabbed in KwaZulu Natal.

THREAT TO LIFE

The defence of the two brothers told the court that his clients' lives are in danger and that's why they should be kept in eSwatini instead of being brought back to South Africa. "His Lordship will note that there is an issue, particularly of threat to life, to the respondents with regards to the serious allegations made against them by the South African authorities. We've made this point known to the state through affidavits, but they have not addressed it; they are just skating around it." He added that all the issues in their heads of arguments were raised in their answering affidavits. "So, your Lordship, as I'm summing up, I'd like to emphasise that the state has not said anything about our issue. However, they've only made reference to two case numbers that they say they have evidence for. We don't deny this, or the allegations brought against my clients." The defence requested a postponement.

IT'S BEING DEALT WITH

In response to the defences' issue, the state responded by saying that South African authorities are aware of the possible threat to the lives of the accused. "The matter regarding the safety of the accused is being dealt with. We don't need anyone to testify about this." The pair were arrested in February. The brothers are also linked to the murders of Mntimande Kunene, Nhlanhla Ngcobo, and Zamokuhle Mkhwanazi-Ngcobo, which took place in eManzimtoti and Berea, respectively.
