He is devastated after a raging fire engulfed his home and burnt all his belongings to ashes. Jazz musician and percussionist, Gontse Makhene is seeking relief and financial assistance to help replace his goods.
DEVASTATED
Without going into detail on how the fire started, the Ndigiliza percussionist is happy no one was hurt and shared his devastation about the fire that destroyed his home in Molapo, Soweto, recently. He said the fire left him feeling lost and overwhelmed. "As a musician and percussionist, my home was more than just a place to live, it was a sanctuary, my creative space, not just for myself but for other creatives as well. Where they had the liberty to teach and learn from each other.' He said the loss of his instrument, equipment and belongings has been a profound blow.
ASSISTANCE
Despite the loss, he believes he can recover. "I find solace in the relief that every challenge is an opportunity for growth and transformation.' Gontse is reaching out for financial support. "Your generous donations will help me to rebuild my home, replace essential belongings, and acquire new instruments,' he pleaded.
