TV presenter and actress Minnie Dlamini is raking in the TV hosting gigs and events. She recently made her first big screen debut in the chick flick movie, The Honeymoon alongside comedian Tumi Morake and actress Kajal Bagwadeen. She was also nominated for The Simon Mabhunu Sabela Film and Television Awards for best supporting actress. To add more to her wins, the mom of one has been announced as the new host of a new celebrity lifestyle show dubbed Curated by Tanqueray, a platform for all South Africans to get their weekly dose of entertainmen
BACK ON LIVE TV
Minnie plans on showcasing her remarkable talents by dazzling the viewers with her flare for being on screen and bringing a zest to the show. "I'm excited to be back on live TV," she tells ZiMoja. "This past year had me focusing more behind the scenes with my production company, thus leading this new era of being back on screen as well as being one of the Executive Producers of Curated. It's time to celebrate our incredible talent and shows like this are what we need to highlight and build our industry at large."
THE THRILL
Minnie started her TV presenting career on live TV 13 years ago. "I have had the privilege and the challenge to be one of the very few presenters with that skill set for most of my career. I believe having started out working with the likes of Bonang Matheba and Sizwe Dlomo, I got to learn from a wealth of experience, and I had to learn quickly to keep up or the whole show's standard would drop," she says. "Live TV has really become a commodity outside of sport so to be able to be on a show that will challenge me in that regard is exciting. I'm also incredibly excited to be part of a show that celebrates our talent and our entertainment industry. These are the shows that keep our industry alive and thriving."
STAYING RELEVANT
Minnie is adored by many for her unique glamour and has cemented herself in the South African entertainment scene from the first day we saw her on our TV screens on LIVE Amp. Having already appeared on multiple TV shows in South Africa, Minnie will be leaving another imprint in the South African Entertainment industry with Curated to show us that her flavour and liveliness have earned her praise and a permanent seat on our screens. Staying relevant is not easy in an industry where looks and age matter. But Minnie says, that every day she strives to be better. "The challenge with any new show is to resonate with the audience, whilst being fresh and new," she says. "The difference is social media has become a whole different space than when I started, so the content itself has to show a standard that supersedes the fast-paced and on-the-go information available on social media," she adds. "But I'm so excited for people to tune in a see what our industry looks like right now because our stars and events are world class."
