Minnie sets the record straight on rumours that she is back with her ex

Minnie Dlamini says she is done with her marriage

Media personality and businesswomen Minnie Dlamini says she is sick and tired of rumours and bloggers spreading rumours of her being back with her estranged husband. Speaking to ZiMoja, Minnie says there is no chance that she will be back with her ex-husband, Quinton Jones. "I am not back with that guy and I don't even know who started this rumour. That chapter is closed and it will never be opened," she stresses.

BACK TO DLAMINI

Despite the fact the fact that her divorce is not yet finalised, the sports presenter says she has dumped her double barrel surname of Dlamini-Jones and back to just to Dlamini. She adds: "We are still legally married but I have taken back the Dlamini surname. My ID is back to Dlamini."

MESSY DIVORCE

Minnie and Quinton got married in 2017 in a celebrity status wedding attended by the who's who of showbiz, sports and politics.  The couple announced their divorce in February 2022 in a joint statement. She also opened up about her failed marriage in a n interview on 702 where she said she ignored red flags in her marriage. "I felt like I had to reduce myself in so many ways, and I wasn't able to live the best version of myself. I feel like a marriage should never be something that clips your wings but should be something that allows you to grow a second pair," she said. In their divorce settlement, Minnie agreed to pay Quinton a once-off spousal maintenance of R360 000 towards his accommodation and R120 000 in cash towards his furniture and household necessities.

TO HOST COMEDY

Last month, Savanna and Showmax Laugh Africa Comedy Festival announced the Roast of Minnie Dlamini scheduled for Friday, 5 April, at the Sandton Convention Centre. The event marks Minnie's debut in the world of comedy roasts. Anticipated to be a night of humour and jeering, Minnie said she is looking forward to a lighthearted take on her decorated career and personal dramas. She said she will not be taking anything personal. "The roast is about having fun and not taking myself too seriously. I may also get an opportunity to dispel many of the rumours told about me," she adds.
