Mboro claims arrest made him broke

Self-proclaimed prophet Paseka 'Mboro' Motsoeneng claims that he has suffered financial repercussions following his arrest last year August. Mboro, who is the leader of Incredible Happenings Church, made a brief appearance at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court today.

SUFFERED FINANCIALLY

Speaking to the media after court proceedings, Mboro said his arrest ruined his reputation, made loyal followers from his church stop attending, and had major financial implications. "My income, the defamation of my character, and the loyal people lost their spiritual home. So the damage is there. I think when you calculate the income that I was going to make, the destruction of my value and wealth is over R60 million."

ARREST

Mboro was arrested last year after a viral video showed him brandishing weapons at a primary school in Katlehong during an alleged custody dispute. In the video, Motsoeneng is seen wielding pangas alongside a gunman at the school, while two children cry hysterically. Mboro has maintained his innocence, calling the incident a custody dispute. He and his co-accused, including his son Revival Motsoeneng, face multiple charges that include kidnapping, possession of dangerous weapons, and assault. He was released on R3000 bail, while his co-accused was released on a warning after spending forty days in jail.
