Maphorisa and Kabza headed to America

Kabza De Small and Maphorisa to tour overseas

There seems to always be skepticism about their friendship and working relationship. But DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small keeping proving their enemies wrong as business partners who makeup the duo Scorpion Kings. They have on several occasions expressed that they are inseparable and now the Emncimbini duo is set to tour the US. 


HEADED TO THE USA


The music giants recently hosted a pre-US tour special mix party at the scenic rooftop of Sony Music Group, which is their distribution company. They were supported by artists X-Duppy  and Mlindo The Vocalist. Also in attendance was Maphorisa's partner, Thuli Phongolo. The mix was a sneak peek, into what to expect at the international celebration. This July, Central Park, at The Big Apple with transform into a vibrant epicentre of Amapiano music and culture as it hosts Themba Sekowe and Kabelo Motha, South Africa's renowned Amapiano maestros, for an unprecedented celebration of this dynamic South African music genre. The event promises to be the biggest Amapiano celebration New York City has ever seen, scheduled for 27 July. 


MAKING HISTORY


For the first time, Central Park will host an Amapiano, event courtesy of the Mzansi stars. This marks a significant moment for South African music on the global stage. "We are excited about and prepared to make history," Maphorisa told ZiMoja, adding that, "We have been putting in a lot of work and we are now making big moves only. The hard work is paying off." Maphorisa said they don't have time for haters. "There's no time for social media hate and criticism. We're busy making moves."

The two are winning in the music business. Kabza won big at the Metro FM Awards and scooped four awards after being nominated for five categories. His song Imithandazo hitmaker won Best Produced Album, Best Collaboration, Song of the Year, and Best Amapiano Song.


A SYMPHONIC PARTNERSHIP


Meanwhile, for the first time in South Africa, Kabza De Small and music conductor, Ofentse Pitse, will collaborate with a Symphonic Orchestra at the sold-out Gold Reef City Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg. The Red Bull Symphonic will be based on the collaboration between a modern-style artist Kabza and a classical music director- Ofentse, together with a full-scale symphonic orchestra. "We are changing the game and what people thought they knew about Amapiano," Kabza said. "We are always trying to do things differently; we are working hard," he concluded
