A 48-year-old man was arrested for the brutal murder of his 14-year-old stepdaughter at Ga-Thoka village outside the Mankweng in Limpopo. The incident took place around 6 am on Friday.
ATTACKED ON HER WAY TO SCHOOL
According to the police report, the victim was on her way to school with a fellow learner when the stepfather approached them. Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the man attacked and stabbed the teenager several times with a sharp object. "He left her helpless on the road. The police were informed about the attack, and on their arrival, they found a victim lying in a pool of blood, still wearing a well-known school uniform," Ledwaba said. The victim was certified dead on the scene by emergency medical service personnel.
DYING FOR PARENT'S SINS
In response to the incident, the police initiated a search for the suspect, who was subsequently found and arrested in Polokwane. "A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had had a domestic dispute with the deceased's mother the previous night." The suspect will appear before Mankweng Magistrates Court tomorrow, facing charges of murder.
