Former controversial Durban Metro cop and businessman Sbu Mpisane is a happy grandfather. This is after he learned about the news that he will be becoming one for the fourth time.

This comes after it emerged that his flamboyant son, Andile Mpisane, who is the chairman of the Premier Soccer League team Royal AM, and his wife Tamia, are expecting their baby number two. Andile and Tamia already have a daughter together, while Mpisane junior also fathered two kids with ex-girlfriend and DJ Sthelo Shozi. It looks like Andile, who is businesswoman and media personality Shauwn Mkhize’s son, is following in his dad’s footsteps. Sbu, who hardly speaks to the media, was forthright with his son’s latest achievement, in adding more kids to the Mpisane legacy. Mamkhize and Sbu’s marriage hit rock bottom after he allegedly sired four children outside his marriage.

When ZiMoja asked Mpisane how he felt about his son having a fourth child, he said: "I’m glad to hear have passed the baton of hope. It excites me that I’ve given birth to a man. He will continue with the Mpisane legacy of rising above all odds, audaciously." The bold and daring Andile at some point claimed that his second-born child with Shozi was actually not his child. He publicly demanded a DNA test through the media, and when the tests proved he was the baby daddy, Andile kept a low profile by putting his tail between his legs. His father, who acknowledged that the child in question was indeed his grandchild, had more praise for his son Andile about the latest child. Mpisane was more poetic in his reply. He said: "I’m free like a river. I’m free like a raindrop from the sky. I’m a crying-free man because their mother took my kids away from me. Out of it all, I’m happy that I gave birth to a man." Mpisane and Shawn live separate lives in different wings of their La Lucia mansion.

When Mamkhize and her estranged husband announced their split in 2019, Andile sided with his mom airing his father’s dirty laundry in public. In a detailed Instagram post, he told the world how his dad fathered 4 children while still married to his mother. He also shared how he used his mothers’ money to maintain his other children and how he ran his businesses to the ground that were financed by his mom. �"For years I watched uMa wami, reduce her brilliance to raise up her husband’s ego - giving him positions and joint credit, where most in the boardroom knew he had no contribution to give. Unfortunately, what she bought, thinking it was for my legacy, created resentment towards me from her husband. From June 2014, he became more distant and colder. I too became distant because as a teenage boy child, I had started seeing the treatment he gave my mother," he said in the post. Ever since then their relationship became sour.
