His music is about making a change in the world. Climate Change activist, musician, and filmmaker from Denmark Bjorn Vino travels across the world collaborating with artists for his project "Music in Space' to make a change. In his recent project, he joins forces with South African stars in spreading awareness of climate change, global warming, and harm caused by humans.
MUSIC FOR THE PLANET
Bjorn said: "Everybody can see that the weather is changing due to global warming, and we need our old planet back and to change our habits as human beings. Our contribution as artists is to give the change a language.' Bjorn was taken aback the minute he learnt of the South African artists and had to feature them in his project. MAKE A DIFFERENCE
He said that the deeper he digs down into the subject of global warming, the scarier and more serious it is. "Artists have to create positive language that people can tap into. Like, let's have a party and clean up the mess. We have to have a positive attitude to make this work. Our lyrics for this "Music in Space' project are the hardest I have ever done. All songs have a double meaning. For example, the club banger "Party' is a song about pollution. So "All I did was a party' means "all I did was polluting. It's subtle, but you will get it quite quick when you listen to the lyrics,' he added.
CHANGE WILL COME
At the heart of Bjorn's work lies his groundbreaking project that aims to educate. "My own home country, Denmark, is getting flooded. My birth town will not exist in 50-100 years. I think it's a disaster. Science and art have always gone hand in hand. It's beautiful. I have an idea that Music in Space is going to be a global player in saving the planet. We have been on television and reached more than a billion people so far. We have played stadium concerts. We have changed the laws of climate change in the UN General Assembly. I believe we can change the world by providing a new language and hope."
