Mabala Noise, a recording label once popular for making and sometimes breaking stars, is set to make a strong comeback with a revamp and new artists. The label owned by Reginald "Reggie' Nkabinde had a brief shelf life and crumbled after a few years running. The label owner is said to be rebuilding and working on returning to the music industry to discover new talent and revive old stars' dwindling careers.
ONCE MASSIVE
Mabala Noise was one of the most controversial stables with highly popular stars and signed the likes of Mnqobi Yazo, Khanyi Mbau, Nasty C, Letoya Makhene, Gigi Lamayne, Maraza, Fifi Cooper and Zakwe to name a few. The label made headlines for controversial reasons after they were rumoured to have allegedly paid artists exorbitant amounts.
MABALA
Mabala Noise, formerly known as Mabalabala, was originally formed in 2015 by Durban deejay, Bongani "Bongz' Dlamini, who later partnered with Reggie and renamed it Mabala Noise. The label has since lost all its artists. Julius Malema once accused Mabala Noise owner of being embroiled in "dodgy tender processes' and the EFF opened a case of racketeering and fraud which quickly fizzled out. Reggie, former ANC Youth League's national treasurer, left politics and his flamboyant life to become a sangoma. Attempts to get a comment from Reggie proved fruitless as he ignored our calls and blue ticked our text messages.
