Durban socialite Tha Simelane, who is openly gay, is expecting twins from a surrogate mother. Tha, who is close to businesswoman and media personality, Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize, confirmed this to ZiMoja.

MAMKHIZE PAID FOR SURROGACY FEES

 According to a source close to the situation, MaMkhize, the reality star of KwaMaMkhize, is the one who paid for costs related to surrogacy. A source adds that IVF, legal fees and monthly medical fees to the surrogate mother cost more than R100 000.

THE BIRTH OF KIDS WILL BE FEATURED ON REALITY TV 

The source adds that the birth of the twins will form part of the storyline on season two of KwaMaMkhize. The shooting for the new season starts in mid-July, and Tha will get a prominent role unlike in the debut season. Tha and other celebs like media personality, Somizi Mhlongo, form part of MaMkhize’s circle of friends. "The birth and baptism of the babies will be featured on the reality show.There will be an episode where they will go to church for the babies’ baptism. Tha cannot wait to hold his babies in his hands," the source said. 

CONFIRMING SHOOTING WITH MAMKHIZE

Tha has also confirmed that he is currently shooting the reality show. "Production is on- we are busy shooting, there is so much to expect and I can’t wait". He also adds that he is over the moon to be part of Uzalo. "The whole cast is lovely and my character is growing every day. I like the fact that I have been given creative freedom- I am enjoying playing Japhta " he adds. Tha said he did not want to talk much about the pregnancy as it’s personal. "I have always wanted to have kids of my own and leave a legacy of my own. l will share more on the news when the time is right," he concludes.
