'MK Party not a party of criminals'- Floyd Shivambu

MK Party General Secretary Floyd Shivambu

Ahead of a mini rally to be held by uMkhonto Wesizwe Party marking their first year anniversary in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, the party's Secretary General Floyd Shivambu dismissed claims that MK is a party of criminals.

THE BEST OF THE BEST

Shivambu claimed that they have no member that has been convicted before.

"There's no one implicated in wrong doing within uMkhonto Wesizwe. There is no one who has ever been convicted or criminally implicated,"he said.

He added:"We don't just pick people because they sing better slogans or they are master factionalists ; we pick the best of the best of those who are relevant. We identify the best of the best who are relevant so that we can put different skills to play different roles in the organisation."

Shivambu said the "giant" that is MK is worth a celebration.

"MK is less than 12 months but it is the leading party in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal and it is the official opposition in Parliament, it is the official opposition in Mpumalanga and it is represented in seven of the nine provincial legislatures. However, we still have a lot of work to do because there are provinces where the party has not gained proper traction.

WE ARE GRATEFUL

Today's event is a precursor to the main event to be held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on 15 December. The MK Party's Gauteng spokesperson Bafana Mahlabe expressed gratitude to the people of Ekurhuleni for their support.

"In the 2024 general elections, the MK Party received 14% of the vote from the region. We are feeling so good, we are confident that come the 15 December at Moses Mabhida stadium,KwaZulu-Natal , it is going to be full to capacity because in fact, we won 45% of the vote in the province and we are saying 2026 is around the corner and we are saying to our people, come and join us and make sure that MK Party gets a total victory in 2026."
