Former child star, Longwe Twala, is proving to his family every year that he belongs to the streets. After being saved from being a hobo early this year by his legendary music and movie mogul ,Sello "Chicco" Twala, Longwe has gone back to the life of drugs again.
OLD HABITS DIE HARD
In December last year, just before Christmas, he ran away from home in the north of Joburg after stealing household belongings to sell on the streets and feed his drug cravings. A source told ZiMoja that Longwe was taken to rehab by his aunt for the umpteenth time, "because Chicco is tired of his addiction".
Last month, Longwe relapsed again and ran away while his father was in the United States to seal a publishing deal. "Chicco came back excited from the US with good news that he secured a publishing deal between local and American artists. The exciting news was spoiled by Longwe's disappearance and being back on the streets again. Chicco doesn't care what happens to Longwe anymore," said the source.
HE WAS DISCUSSED IN COURT
Last week, while he was roaming the streets, Longwe was being discussed in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria. While some of the witnesses in the murder trial claimed that when Senzo was shot dead on 26 October 2014, Longwe ran out of the house. One of the defence lawyers implied that Longwe was hit by one bullet on his knee.
Senzo, the former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, was shot at the home of girlfriend and baby mama Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus. Longwe was visiting his girlfriend, Zandie Khumalo who is Kelly's younger sister, at the time of the shooting. Zandie, Kelly and their mother Ntombi Longwe and two of Senzo's best friends, Mthokozisi Twala and Tumelo Madlala, both from Durban, were all inside the house when intruders allegedly attacked them, shot and killed Senzo..
CHICCO CONFIRMS
Chicco said he doesn't care about good or bad publicity anymore. "I won't sit and watch a drug addict continuously stealing from me and be silent. Yes, I can confirm that when I was in the USA, my son Longwe and his brother Sello colluded and stole my equipment in the studio. Longwe, whom I chased away a while ago because of his drug addiction, jumped the high walls and broke into my studio and stole my stuff. I saw the likes of the late Hope Zinde and many parents being killed by their own flesh and blood because of drug addiction," Chicco said adding that since Sello and Longwe have been stealing from him for a long time, he has decided that enough is enough. "Let them rot in jail," he said.
