He wants every penny owed to him. Singer Langa Mavuso is not making any excuses after the promoter of the show The Beautiful Ones failed to pay him for a booking made on 5 May. The Intliziyo singer shared his rage with his over 50 000 Twitter followers saying that promoter Sivu Siwisa failed to pay him for a booking.
PAY UP!
Langa is blessed to have worked with an amazing team, but he needs them to be compensated for their hard work. "My first ever paying gig was when I was 12 years old, and since then I've never had a promoter run off on my team, the service providers, or their business partner. Qaluyibona le (It's my first time), Sivu Siwisa," he says. "If you see her in Durban tell her to at least communicate with her services providers and pay them. I'm good. Just pay the vendors loser. We have incredible promoters and show curators with integrity in this country, just not Sivu Siwisa. I'm blessed to have worked with the best but now I've learned not to trust those who pretend to be friends."
LOSING TRUST
Langa says that the promoter preaches false integrity and principle. "I wasn't ready to go back on stage and do meet and greet dinners in my time of mourning and grief but I trusted Sivu because I knew her from the University of Cape Town days at Bremner during FMF (FeesMustFall) and she dated a friend, so I thought I was in safe hands," he adds. "I wouldn't have been bothered if she didn't preach principle and integrity over her mistakes. She isn't accountable or dependable. I hope she can do better in the future and communicate because doing this on social isn't my thing."
DELAYS IN PAYMENT
Sivu released a statement after Langa's first rant which Langa thinks is hogwash saying, he is happy that one of his service providers has been paid. "But it's funny that after there months since this statement was made no payment has been made to myself or the vendors. More than R100k is still owed to us." The statement reads that some payments have been made however others are delayed. "Our founding member had a family bereavement which was duly communicated through their email notices. This caused their unavailability and sadly meant that regular work at The Beautiful Ones was disrupted."
