Contrary to his previous reputation as a bad boy, kwaito star Professor has dedicated his life to the Lord. Professor, whose real name is Mkhonzeni Langa and is known for his hit song Jezebel, has made a conscious decision to change his ways and become born again.

NO HALF-NAKED WOMEN IN HIS MUSIC VIDEO 

ZiMoja can confirm that the Durban-based artist-cum-record label owner has turned over a new leaf since he met his wife, who is a government worker in Gauteng. This became evident when he shot a music video for his latest song, Hayi, this week. According to the crew and some of the cast members, Professor turned away half-naked girls who were meant to be video vixens. It does not end there; the source said the singer refused to shoot the music with alcoholic beverages. "He made it clear that he doesn't want alcohol. Pretty girls and models weren't part of the video. Professor even refused the rented car, citing that he doesn't want things that Jesus did not offer him," added the source.

A POSITIVE TRANSFORMATION 

The source said it was a beautiful transformation to witness an artist from Umlazi township in Durban, who was a hard-core kwaito singer, turn into God. "It's heartwarming to see such a positive change in someone who was once wild like Professor. He has truly become a different person. He no longer frequents clubs and left early after the video shoot to return home to his family," the source added. In one of his WhatsApp statuses, he wrote in IsiZulu: "Nkosi lungisa zonke izinto ezonakele empilweni yami. Dumisani uJevoha ngegama lenkosi uJesu Khristu Amen." (God, please fix every broken thing in my life. Praise God, in Jesus name, Amen). Professor is not the only former bad boy who has turned over a new leaf; Ukhozi FM DJ Sgqemeza revealed to ZiMoja last year that he had also been born again and ordained as a pastor. The DJ mentioned that he no longer performs at nightclubs. Professor has chosen not to discuss his newfound faith.
