She was once one of the most adored actresses on television. She starred as gorgeous, Sharon on SABC 1 soapie, Generations for seven years. But at the height of her soapie career, Kagiso Rakosa (40) suddenly vanished from the limelight. After being quiet for a few years, she returns to the small screen with a role on the drama series, Magaeng and hosting a radio show on One Africa Radio.

HER NEW GIG

Kagiso played the role of Sharon on Generations for seven years. When she left, she appeared in adverts and made short stints of Zabalaza, Greed & DesireAboMzalaThe Docket, and Traffic! to name a few. During her break from prime-time TV, she studied marketing and continued working on community radio stations. In the new show Magaeng, Sharon plays the role of a police officer and stars alongside Keke Mphuthi, Sdumo Mtshali, Tina Mnumzane, Khabonina Qubeka, and Thato Molamu. The show follows the life of Zama Ndaba, who is a confident and ambitious woman who is determined to distance herself from her family’s past life of crime.

BEAUTY BUSINESS

Now back in business, Kagiso also joins actress and wellness coach Khabonina Qubeka’s brand KhaNatural as a brand ambassador. Khabonina announced in excitement. "We asked about her modelling career, and she said, ‘I actually started as a model, but that got blindsided by the impromptu acting career.’" An equally excited Kagiso says, "As most women, including myself of course; we love taking care of our beauty, that’s why when Khabonina approached me to model for her new products for KhaNatural, I jumped at the opportunity to again be a model!"
