Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng presiding over the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has issued a stern warning to accused number five Fisokuhle Ntuli. This came after the state alleged that Ntuli made gestures threatening a state witness on Thursday. The witness, Constable Sizwe Zungu, placed all the suspects in Vosloorus on the day Meyiwa was murdered at his celebrity girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's family home. He said he saw the suspects at a hostel in the township and soon after the footballer's death.

WITNESSES INTIMIDATION

In a video clip played in court early this morning, Ntuli can be seen making gestures that state prosecutor George Baloyi has described as a pull of a trigger. The accused made the gesture when Zungu was testifying yesterday. Baloyi said the gesture could amount to contempt of court. Mokgoathleng asked Ntuli what he was trying to convey with the expressions and gestures. Responding to the judge, Ntuli said he could not remember what he was talking about as he and his co-accused were discussing a lot of stuff. During his testimony on Thursday, Zungu told the court that the five accused carried a 38 revolver special and a 9 mm pistol on the day of Meyiwa's murder. He said he was interested in the revolver, which he said was not loaded with bullets.

THE ACCUSED CELEBRATED AFTER SENZO'S MURDER

The Pretoria High court heard how accused number one, Muzi Sibiya who Zungu says he knows from back home in KwaZulu Natal broke the news of Meyiwa's murder, even before the media reported on it. He claimed that the men celebrated Meyiwa's death with a bottle of whiskey. "Muzi took off a red t-shirt that he was wearing and rolled it in his hand. He pulled something out to stand on, and he was carrying a bottle. He then asked: "Have you heard that Meyiwa is no more," Zungu added. He said that days after Meyiwa was killed, the descriptions of the intruders in the media matched the accused who he was with on the night of October 26 2014. The trial continues.
