Despite the heavy rains in KZN yesterday, hundreds of his supporters flocked to Mzo Lifestyle where Zuma received a warm welcome. Addressing the crowd, Zuma once again emphasised that he would never campaign for the ANC under Ramaphosa's administration. "We have a few months left before the elections. People must vote for change and that change is Umkhonto Wesizwe. The ANC that is led by Ramaphosa is not the ANC that I joined. I don't know this ANC," he said. Zuma went on to say that his job was to rescue the ANC from the mud Ramaphosa put it in. "Whether they like it or not, we must rescue the ANC," he said to a cheering crowd. Zuma further accused Ramaphosa of being a dictator. "The ANC I know was never focused more on expelling members without implementing proper processes to establish if such action was appropriate. The ANC of Ramaphosa has failed South Africans. This is why you must vote for the MK party," he said.
Answering questions from the crowd on what his party would do for its voters, the former president said that they would not be making promises and that their biggest role was to free black South Africans. "We will free South Africans again because black people are still not fully free. The same people who are supposed to make sure we are free are the ones pressing us now. "When I said education must be free, they said they was no money but the money is there and it's being squandered," Zuma said.
