Their love affair was picture-perfect in the beginning. The international holidays, expensive gifts and bubble baths with rose petals. Their love was one out of a fairy-tale. Then media personality and reformed gold digger Khanyi Mbau and her businessman Kudzai Mushonga moved to Dubai to create a new life for themselves which had its ups and downs. It was recently reported that the two have gone their separate ways. Kudzai has since revealed to ZiMoja that he has moved on and is seeing another woman.

 

MOVING ON

Although the reasons for the breakup are unclear, Khanyi is currently in South Africa promoting her reality show Young, Famous and African alongside Nadia Nakai, Bonang Matheba, and other African stars. A source says that, "Something bad must have really happened, but time will tell. Khanyi is no longer in contact with him and she is using this time back home to heal." The two have deleted each other’s pictures on social media. Kudzai has since posted snaps and videos with the new woman in his life who goes by the name Bunny_Bandit, real name Vanja Vićentijevićto, a licensed flight attendant. "I can’t say much right now, but I am good. I have moved on," he says. "I’m doing me," Kudzai says.

 

FALLING INTO DEPRESSION

Kudzai also revealed that he has been going through depression. "I started feeling unloved, unworthy and not cared for a very long time. The only thing I had was Dubai views. I was very depressed. I was dying inside, it was a slow painful death and I wanted it to end faster," he says. "I was falling apart. I was isolated from everyone. I gave up everyone including my close friends and family, all for love. I gave it my all, but I was sinking into depression." 

 

SHIY’ INDODA E DUBAI

In September 2021, Khanyi made headlines after Kudzai reported that she went missing in Dubai after dropping her off at a salon and planned to pick her up when she was done. He posted a video saying that he was unable to find her. A few hours later, Kudzai revealed that Khanyi had returned to South Africa. Khanyi revealed that she left in a hurry to protect her mental space as she could no longer function in that environment. Weeks later, the couple got back together.

 

A NEW START

In a recent interview with ZiMoja, Khanyi said she is enjoying moving between the Middle East and South Africa. 

 "I have been living in the Middle East full-time. I am a resident," she said. She also believed that there is nothing she has not done and was looking for something new to tackle. "I have done marriage, children, acting, music, skin bleaching, being a sugar baby. I have done it all. So, what I am doing now? I thought the best way to figure this out is to move away so I can look back in."
