She has been described as a Qwerty warrior-one who engages in keyboard wars and fights in social media battlegrounds. In a recent rant, musician Toya DeLazy the KwaZulu Natal musician, who is currently living abroad, said she regrets ever working with Motswako rapper Cassper Nyovest.

BEEF

In 2015, Toya, the granddaughter of the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, released the song My City, featuring Cassper, which went viral. But looking back, she said she wishes she had worked with the late rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes instead. "No lie, I wish I didn't collab with that kid. I can't listen to it. It was a waste of a good song, but I was young and wasn't thinking. I should have followed Sony's direction with this one; my heart was too big, and I gave a chance to a vile person." At the time she released the song, AKA and Cassper were arch enemies. "I was about unity when I made that song. Hence, I did it. But if someone doesn't find nobility important, they make grave mistakes. The worst time to be in the industry was when folk were beefing; it was the helm of self-hate," she said. "That broke a lot of talent; it's extremely discouraging to be forced to compete when music is about different experiences and stories. The blanket experience is forever commodifying dreams,' Toya said.

INSTRUMENTAL TO HIS CAREER

Toya has previously claimed she was instrumental in Cassper's breakthrough. "We got Cassper his first flight in his life to Cape Town to record with us, lots of us put in for him to be where he is, but because we are women, it's overlooked," she said. "That collaboration went to be the biggest, and not once did he remember me when sh*t was popping, bruh, every single," she said. "Fill up, they were singing my song at the stadiums, when we were available and in the country, and that shot hurt my career a lot. As a youngling, that sh*t broke me, took me years to recover. Actually, worst experience, sadly, I wish I had a different story,' she concluded. When contacted for a comment, Cassper's team said, "He won't engage."
