Actress Kwezi Ndlovu-Mbambo has been dragged on the internet for posting that her husband-to-be Durban businessman Sibongiseni Mageza Mbambo had paid lobola for her. This past weekend, Mbambo sent his delegation, and after the formalities, Kwezi celebrated lobola with close family members and friends.
COMPELLED TO TALK
The couple have twin boys together. After she posted her photos, the internet became a buzz when famous blogger Musa Khawula posted that the Umkhokha: The Curse actress snatched Mbambo from her best friend, Tina. Khawula said Mbambo is a deadbeat father to his children and added that he is a father to 17 children. Speaking to ZiMoja, Kwezi said what was meant to be a beautiful and joyful day for her and her husband-to-be ended in public scrutiny and shaming. She admitted that she was taken aback by the negativity, mostly by bloggers entertaining unfounded rumours about her new husband. She hit back: "I know and trust my husband. I was shocked by the public opinion of strangers or people claiming to know him." I fell in love with his heart and commitment to his love for his children and family. I don't know the man who was described by bloggers."
ACCUSED OF 'SNATCHING' HER FRIEND'S MAN
The actress said she was compelled to talk after the negative criticism she received. "For clarity, my husband-to-be is not married and has not been married before. Our respective families and our children are all so excited about our journey, as it is a first for both families. We're both grateful for the strong foundation of love and unity that our families are building alongside us," she added. Kwezi said she looks forward to embarking on a new journey and embracing her blended family. She addressed the matter of allegedly stealing Mbambo from another person. "I'd also like to clear up some rumours," she said. She refuted rumours that she stole her husband from a friend. "I have never snatched a man from any of my friends. Tina Mambo is my best friend, and she is happily married to her husband." My man and Tina's husband are brothers, which makes this moment even more special for us as close friends. Unfortunately, some spread false rumours," she explained. She said she and Tina are both married to the Mbambo siblings. The usually media-shy actress urged bloggers to stop pushing a wrong narrative. She said, "I urge everyone not to be drawn into misinformation rooted in selfish motives. Let's keep the energy positive and focus on love and joy."
