A Limpopo couple was found dead in their home on Monday afternoon and police suspect that the husband scalded his wife with boiling water before taking his own life.
DEADLY ARGUMENT
SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the couple was found dead at their home in Motserereng Village, outside Lebowakgomo at around 2 pm. "Preliminary investigations revealed that the couple had a heated argument that led to a 49-year-old male burning his 45-year-old wife with hot water," said Ledwaba. He explained that the victim sustained severe burn wounds on the body and succumbed to her injuries.
SUICIDE
Ledwaba said the husband was found hanging in a separate room from where the wife was found in the house. "The police also found a suicide note next to the deceased , which will help with the investigation of this tragic incident." SAPS Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has appealed to members of the public who have problems in their relationships to seek professional help rather than resorting to violent acts. "Couples having relationship challenges should seek professional assistance to avoid the catastrophic consequences of this nature. Police investigations are continuing."
