CHILDHOOD
Litchi was born in Cape Town to a ballerina mom and a breakdancer dad. He started dancing at a young age and this grew up with this passion. The self-taught dancer would watch international videos which he mimicked and he drew inspiration from. He admired stars like Aaliyah, TLC, Madonna and Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Destiny's Child. He loved modelling and was an entertainer at home and in his community.
VOGUING
Litchi Hov first founded the dance group, Vintage Dance Cru, which was one of the first dance crews in South Africa to introduce voguing as a dance genre. A diligent learner in high school, after grade 12, he received two bursaries at universities in New York City, to study BCom Accounting. He turned those down, as his passion for dance was more than his love for accounting.
