Their last break-up was in 2021 when she left him in Dubai and took a flight home without his knowledge. A few weeks later, they were back together. Fans thought it was just a publicity stunt then after they got back together. Recently, glamorous socialite and actress Khanyi Mabu has confirmed the separation from her boyfriend of five years, Kudzai Mashonga.

THE BREAKUP

Kudzai and Khanyi relocated to Dubai for business purposes a few years ago. She uprooted her daughter and they lived in two skyscraper apartments in Dubai. Khanyi says the break-up comes after much healing internally before taking the decision to actually leave. "He was a good guy, but he did some bad things. He tried everything he could to make it up to me," she said. "I did most of my grieving while we were together," she added. "I finally got the courage to leave, and of course, I wish him the best."

DEPRESSION

Kudzai Mushonga previously shared that he once was depressed in his relationship with Khanyi. The Zimbabwean businessman said he felt unloved and unworthy. "I started feeling unloved, unworthy, and not cared for, for a very long time. The only thing I had was Dubai views. I was very depressed, I was dying inside," he said. "It was a slow, painful death and I wanted it to end faster. I was falling apart. I was isolated from everyone. I gave up everyone including my close friends and family, all for love. I gave it my all, but I was sinking into depression.'

Khanyi has yet to reveal details about the night she left Kudzai in Dubai and went back home to South Africa. However, she emphasized that it was for her mental well-being. "It was just a choice of I need to protect my mental health right now," she said. "I can't function in this environment, let me go home. It was not out of anything else."
