HHP' widow Lerato Sengadi's departure from her job as a marketing and creative expert at Paramount Africa Network which has caused a stir was not amicable. Sources at the network told ZiMoja that Lerato was dismissed at a disciplinary hearing after she failed to disclose that she was one of the people behind the concept of Showmax reality show Widows-Unveiled where she is also a cast member.
The source says that Sengadi's bosses discovered later on that she was on the show and one of the creators while she works at a television and multimedia broadcast organisation which is viewed as conflict of interest. "She did not tell her bosses that she was either one of the people who came up with the concept or that she was going to be part of the cast. They found out just before the show premiered on Showmax. She was then charged for breaching employer's conflict of interest policy," the source adds. ZiMoja has learnt that she abruptly left, leaving some of the project that she was in charge of hanging. "She was very instrumental for one of the shows coming up on TV in April, if her departure was amicable, why would she just pack and go without any plan B" asked the source.
Sengadi made an announcement on her social media in which she expressed her pride in working with iconic brands like Nickeloden and that she was looking for new opportunities. She also told her followers that she does not know what is next for her. "And just like that, my tenure at Paramount Africa has come to an end. Who else can say they got to do some epic stuff across all these iconic brands? Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET & MTV Base! Me! Thats who! A global marketing & creative queen... I love all the people I was blessed to work with. I'm gonna miss them So much! ** I donno what's next but I'm excited for whatever Modimo & Badimo have in store for me. Always for the culture," she wrote. Spokesperson for Paramount Africa, Monde Afrika said Sengadi left because she wanted to move on. "There is no issue there she just moved on," he said. When called for a comment, Sengadi refuted the claims of her being one of the creators of the Widows-Unveiled show. "No that's not true am just a cast member on the show" When asked why she left her job she did not want to disclose.
