Over the long weekend, singer and songwriter Putuma Tiso became Mrs Nkambule. After a joyous lobola negotiations ceremony hosted by the bride and her mystery groom, friends gathered to celebrate the union at their Johannesburg home.
Filled with music and cheers, a close friend who attended the lobola celebrations said: "Putuma deserves all the joy. She has been patient. She is a family person and very loving," a friend present at the gathering told ZiMoja. Another friend Thanduxolo Jindela said: "We shared tears of joy, and laughter, as Putuma was embraced by her new journey with her beloved. The love and unity amongst family and friends was palpable, making this lobola negotiation an unforgettable experience." Putuma said, "Becoming Mrs Nkambule. One of the happiest days of my life, I thank God and the love of my life."
After years of making music around her hometown of Gqeberha, Putuma started singing professionally in 2010. She started making pop music under Native Rhythms and shifted to gospel. She worked with Bishop Benjamin Dube who took her under his wing, followed by Rebecca Malope. She has backed the likes of Gloria Bosman, Hlengiwe Mhlaba and Siphokazi to name a few. "He husband supports her dreams. They met through mutual friends in the music industry. He understands her," the friend added.
