After many decades in the music industry, gospel heavyweight Kholeka Dabula has now joined the Piano movement. Kholeka has ventured into the popular amapiano genre with the release of her latest single titled "Ngubani Na?" which features her signature soulful vocals over the upbeat amapiano rhythms.
HER CHANGE LEFT MIXED FEELINGS
Her decision to venture into the amapiano genre has generated a lot of controversies and sparked heated debates among fans and critics alike. Some argue that her move is a betrayal of her gospel roots and a sell-out to the mainstream music industry, while others see it as a bold and innovative step toward expanding her artistic horizons. Ngubani Na is a song that speaks about the struggles of life and the importance of having faith and hope in difficult times.
DIVERSIFYING HER MUSIC
A source close to the situation tells ZiMoja that her decision to follow the growing trend is because she wants to diversify her portfolio in music. According to the source, amapiano works with any music genre and the youth enjoys anything that includes amapiano whether it is Maskandi or Gospel people will enjoy. "Check all the songs that have been remixed by amapiano, they are flourishing and it is like they have been given a new life- so I don't blame her decision to embark on amapiano also," adds the source. According to another source, Kholeka won't leave gospel music because that is where she has made her mark. "She will never stop gospel- she has healed so many people through her music, this is just a phase," adds the source. Kholeka could not be reached for comment.
