With a career spanning more than four decades, there is no denying that the late playwright, musician, actor and composer Mbongeni Ngema spent most of his time on stage. Ngema passed away yesterday in a car crash while coming back from attending a funeral in the Eastern Cape. His family confirmed his passing in a statement. The legendary playwright who started his career as a theater backup guitarist has made an indelible mark on South African theater history with plays like Woza Albert, Sarafina and Sheila's day.
