After a messy fall out with his coach, former Lamontville Golden Arrows striker is now back at home in the bundus. Life seems to be hard for Michael Gumede who is said to be going through a rough patch following his exit from the club.
According to a source, Gumede Is now back at home looking after his father's cow's in Macekane, a village just outside Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal.
Gumede had to face a hard reality when he started facing financial hardships. According to the source Gumede, who used to earn thousands of Rands, had to swallow his pride and leave Durban which was his home while he played for Abafana Bes'thende.
According to a source, although Gumede was not a social person, he had a few friends and teammates in Durban. But they have since turned their backs on him.
When things started to get harder financially for him, he decided to go back home to regroup, the source maintains.
"He had to go back to the drawing board and restructure his life, not that he has given up on life ," adds the source.
Gumede's woes started when he had a fallout with with coach Lehlohonolo Seema. The source says Gumede is currently a free agent and waiting for offers from other teams. ZiMoja called him for comment to no avail.
