She used to be on the small screen to showcase her talent and reached millions who watched her daily on Skeem Saam. Actress, Pearl Novic is now a gospel minister, spreading the Word through her ’calling.’ Pearl, who played the character of Sonti in the SABC 1 soapie believes that her pathway is a Godly design and everything happens for a reason.

TAKING A BREAK FROM THE SMALL SCREEN

She says there is no bad blood between her and the entertainment industry but she needed a break to change the wild ways of the past and follow God’s ways. "I used to live a wild lifestyle and one day God pulled me into a hotel room in the early hours of the morning after clubbing. I knew then that I needed to change my ways. Since that morning, I have never looked back but have chosen to preach his Word to the multitudes," she says. She admits the acting bug never goes away and that one day she will go back when the time is right. The mother of two boys, who was raised by her grandmother in Pretoria, believes the door hasn’t closed for her to continue gracing our screens and she will consider it as time goes and if the opportunity presents itself.

PAGEANT FINALIST

The 2023 Mrs. South Africa finalist is busy and runs a flower business in the Pretoria East suburb of Silver Lakes. "I love receiving flowers," Pearl says glowingly. She was motivated by passion to push for a flower business. Pearl’s passion motivated her to arrange a bouquet for herself and people liked how she arranged flowers and encouraged her to take the flower business seriously. She then visited flower shops to learn the whole flower business until she found out where she could stock the flowers. "I designed my marketing strategies and went to the streets myself until an opportunity for a store came- I have never looked back, ever," she concludes.
