"I can’t take it anymore!"

Defence advocate Zandile Mshololo cross-examined a police forensic expert Thabo Mosia

Warrant Officer Thabo Mosia was back on the stand at the North Gauteng High Court where he was grilled by the defence advocate on swab samples that he didn’t take at the Senzo Meyiwa murder scene and inside his car. Mosia told the court that he was tired and he doesn’t want to be on the witness stand anymore. Mosia has been on the stand for a week and was facing cross-examination from the defence of the five accused of Senzo Meyiwa’s murder.

"I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE"

Mosia who previously testified on the matter in the first trial said he had nothing more to say. "I have been in this box for so long and I can’t do this anymore. I don’t understand what more is needed from me now when I was just doing my work. My body cannot take it anymore," he said. Mosia was being grilled about certain evidence swabs that he didn’t take at the scene and inside Meyiwa’s car on the day of the murder. He said he didn’t think there’d be any evidence to collect from Meyiwa’s BMW X6 that he thought would add value to the investigation. "I was present at the scene as an assistant to the investigating officer and followed his lead," he said. Mosia admitted that he did not take any blood tests from the people that were in the house when Meyiwa was killed to determine their alcohol consumption levels.

NEW WITNESS

The state called another witness Colonel Thobeka Mhlahlo. Mhlahlo compiled the photo album from the crime scene and according to Mosia, she discovered the bullet projectile on the kitchen counter on the morning of the 27th of October 2014. Colonel Mhlahlo says she arrived on the scene on the 27th of October 2014 and found Mosia and Captain Zwane who showed her around the scene. "We then agreed Mosia would continue with the crime scene as he had already started. I then focused on taking pictures and fingerprints investigation and compiling the crime scene report, as well as a rough sketch," she said. Mhlahlo will continue with her testimony tomorrow as the trial continues.
