Popular street fashion brand Amakipkip has been thriving since its establishment in 2006 and has dressed stars like rappers such as K.O, Scoop Makhathini, DaLes and most recently DJ Fae Fae, and Stilo Magolide. Despite experiencing a decline at one point, the brand has made a comeback, however, the return has had its fair share of challenges.

OUT YOU GO!

Nkosana Modise, the founder and CEO of Amakipkip, recently revealed that they are facing an unjust eviction from their store at the Mall of Africa, where they have been operating for four years. Nkosana said, "As a cornerstone of South African streetwear, we need your support to fight this injustice. Stand with us for fairness and inclusivity." He added that the brand has been dedicated and reliable for four years and they recently learned that the private owner of their rental space is attempting to have them evicted without notice or valid reasons. "This decision is not only unfounded but also poses a severe threat to our business, which has become an integral part of the mall."

 THIS IS UNFAIR

The business owners said the actions could be perceived as discrimination, undermining the principles of fairness and inclusivity. "The action appears discriminatory and threatens to dismantle the community and culture we have worked tirelessly to build," Nkosana said. When Zimoja called mall management, they refused to comment.
