His business was temporarily closed after he was hit by a stroke a few days ago. Close friends have since confirmed the passing of Eyadini Lounge boss Jabulani Thamsanqa "Jigga Money" Zama on Saturday night. They confirmed the sad news saying that the family is yet to release a statement.

PRAYERS

Before his passing, his family released a statement saying his condition was severe. "We are saddened to announce that our father, Jabulani Thamsanqa Zama known as Jigga Money has suffered a severe stroke," the statement reads. "Due to his health condition and the road to recovery. Eyadini will be temporarily closed until further notice." His family has asked for prayers and privacy during this time. "We believe he will be better and back in joyful spirits."

REST IN PEACE

Close friends confirmed his passing to ZiMoja. "Yes, our friend is no more. This is unbelievable. But he fought." Another says they received the sad news just before midnight. "We were hoping he would recover. But it’s too late. We got the news just after 11 pm. The news is true." Eyadini management has since released a statement confirming the businessman’s passing. "Am amazing soul, full of love, joy, and faith ascended to heaven, away from us, but closer to God," the statement reads. The family has asked for privacy to mourn.

HOSPITALISED BEFORE

This is not the first time the businessman has had health complications. Last year, he was hospitalised for gout - a complex form of arthritis with symptoms such as severe attacks of pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness in one or more joints, most often in the big toe. It is usually caused by obesity, high blood pressure, and/or diabetes. It is often triggered by a bad diet.

PAST MONEY ISSUES

A few years ago, the meat king auctioned his luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom and his Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 63 valued at worth at around R8 million to pay off his debt. He admitted to owing SA Revenue Service (Sars) millions of rands and had made an arrangement to pay off the debt in monthly installments.
