Drip owner and family evicted from posh villa at Waterfall Estate

Controversial businessman and owner of Drip, Lekau Sehoana, and his family were evicted from a posh villa at Waterfall Estate after he failed to keep up with monthly rentals leaving his ex wife and son homeless.

As if that was not enough, the flamboyant businessman who is known for flaunting his possessions and parading his overseas travels, had his son thrown out of school after he failed to pay school fees for several months.

These jaw dropping revelations are contained in a court application filed by the Waterfall Residents Developments at the South Gauteng High court early this year.

EMPTY PROMISES

Zimoja can reveal that the developers of the affluent Waterfall Estate successfully evicted the Drip owner's wife and son last month after several exchanges between them, amongst which Lekau made plenty of promises to settle the arrears on his monthly rental bill.

The couple who are now going through a divorce were finally evicted from the house in June 2024 and these was also confirmed by several of the couples Whastapp messages chats seen by Zimoja.

LEKAU'S FINANCES

In one of the messages, Lekau's wife Lebogang told the Drip owner that she and her son had just returned from the winter holidays and asked him what they should do as they were homeless.

In another message, Lekau, after being asked by Lebogang to sort out the rental drama, told his family that the Waterfall Developers were refusing to budge and asked his family to move out.

Zimoja has also seen the first notice which was put on the door of Lekau's villa, as early as Janurary 2024 in which the developers said that the Drip owner and his family had until end of that month to vacate their posh apartment.

According to court papers and the lease agreement signed by both Lekau and Waterfall Residents Developers, the businessman was expected to pay R35 000 monthly.

The developers said the payments only came through for several months until he defaulted in November and December 2023. At the time of filing the court papers, the developers said Lekau owed them almost R100 000 in rental payments.

EX WIFE SPEAKS OUT

The eviction drama has led to Lekau?s wife Lebogang to speak out stating that she suffered too much abuse and threats at the hands of the Drip man.

"We are tired of the abuse, the lies and tricks of Lekau, as we speak his very own son is homeless and out of school with no food and no clothes, He even got a court order to pay maintenance and take responsibility as he has not for years. In March 2024 he boldly lied during the launch of Claws sneakers saying his kids wouls remain in school regardless of the liquidation case againt him knowing very well that his son has been staying at home for years and he had a maintenance court order against him," said Lebogang.

She said he was refusing to acknowledge and to pay her despite having played a major role in the formation of Drip business, indicating that she was the one who bought the first car for the business using her own money because Lekau was broke.

However she said that things changed when Lekau started tasting success and he excluded her to the day to day running of the business and taking all the credit for what they accomplished together. At the time of publishing, Lekau had not responded to questions Zimoja had sent him.
