Singer Nhlanhla Mafu's new boyfriend is accused of causing a rift between her and her bandmate Theo Kgosinkwe. Concerned friends close to the couple said the man, only known as Jerry, is slowly taking over and apparently wants to manage Nhlanhla and push her to pursue a solo career. Sources close to the situation said things have been bad behind the scenes with Mafikizolo, ever since Nhlanhla met her boyfriend after divorcing businessman and politician hubby, Thembinkosi "TK" Nciza.
NO LONGER GETS ALONG WITH PEOPLE
A source said Nhlanhla has completely changed since meeting the new man and that she no longer mingles during performances. "She isolates herself by sitting in the car and after performances, she leaves immediately. This is not the Nhlanhla we know. She is now acting like a celebrity even to us," said the source. According to ZiMoja's trusted source, Nhlanhla and Theo are no longer that tight. The source added that Nhlanhla no longer gets along with people she has known all her life such as a Mafikizolo dancer, Cedric the Tsonga Boy. According to the source, trouble started when Cedric got sponsored by BMW and that did not sit well with Nhlanhla's boyfriend. "She went to the dealership and asked why they sponsored Cedric instead of Nhlanhla, as she is the brand in the showbiz industry. Fortunately for Cedric, he was called and rushed to the dealership and there was drama where the two exchanged some words. They had to be separated," the source added.
HE IS TRYING TO TAKE OVER
According to the source, even Mafikizolo's long-time tour manager Modise Kgomo feels like Jerry wants to take over his job. The source said, "You can tell this guy wants to control everything. He wants to manage Nhlanhla but he wants to start by dividing the team. I don't know how far it can go because she tried a solo career and it failed. We will just wait and see what happens." Nhlanhla released a self-titled solo album while she was still married to Nciza. She was a TS Records artist at the time, alongside the late award-winning kwaito star Brown Dash and Ntando, whom she featured in her album. When called for comment, Nhlanhla denied the allegations and laughed it off. "I am not working on a solo project. People are just bored," she said
