He is smiling from ear to ear after his wife, Boitumelo Malinga, gave birth to their sixth baby. Singer Goodwill Malinga, best known as Dr Malinga, is still continuing to grow his family, despite still paying off his SARS debt of over R500 000.
TAX WOES
The Indlela singer almost lost his home after SARS claimed he owed over R500 000 in unfiled taxes. Dr Malinga lost his cars, furniture and belongings, leaving him, his wife and his kids with an unfurnished home, which was on the verge of being repossessed.
At the time, Dr Malinga said he tried to apply for the COVID-19 relief fund when gigs dried up, but he did not qualify. Fans spared a few Rands and opened an account to help get the singer out of debt. The EFF also came to his rescue and donated some money, as well as fellow artists; Makhadzi, Oskido and Black Coffee. "I needed help," he said. He did not care about the title of being a celebrity. "I sacrificed my celebrity status; I didn't care about being judged. . I didn't go out and rob people, like many people having financial issues. I asked for help."
PLUS ONE
During his woes with the taxman, Dr Malinga's wife was pregnant with twins, Lingos and Legends. He opened up about not having medical aid at the time and having to go to public hospitals for check-ups until his sister came to the rescue to pay for their medical bill.
Dr Malinga and Boitumelo welcomed their baby girl over the weekend. "God blessed us with a baby girl, baby number six," he wrote. A close friend said the Petronella singer still wants to grow his family. "He loves family and he is a great father, why not? Why can't he grow his family, money comes and goes,' the friend said. Dr Malinga confirmed that he indeed had his sixth child but was too busy to talk as his wife had to leave the hospital.
