Retired footballer Doctor '16V' Khumalo has secretly tied the knot with his long-time partner last weekend. The pair got married in an intimate traditional ceremony which was attended by close friend and family at Khumalo's parents' home in Spruitview on the East Rand. The wedding was kept under wraps and only came to light when a few pictures of the couple surfaced on social media.

A source close to the couple says it was a nice and beautiful affair. "Those who attended the wedding were not allowed to take pictures of the couple at the ceremony to avoid media glare," the source add. According to the source, 16V's new wife was given the name Nomasonto by her in-laws. Nothing much is known about Khumalo's new wife. "All we know is that she is a businesswoman and philanthropist. She is beautiful and smart I get why Doctor fell in love with her. ," adds the source. The couple has been together for years and it's said that their wedding has been long-awaited by their friends and close associates.

Khumalo was previously married to Nabian born Blanche Garises. The couple who has a son together divorced in 2015 after eight years of marriage. In a media interview in 2015, Blanche said that she was unhappy from day one because Khumalo wouldn't allow her parents visit her at the house. "He also didn't accept my son. "I felt lonely and miserable. Neither of us cheated on the other but I was like a prisoner in the marriage. I've been nothing but loyal to Doctor. Our love just died," she said. Khumalo who is widely regarded as one of the best footballers to have ever played for South Africa has always kept his private life away from the public eye. Khumalo refused to comment.
