The matter against presenter and musician Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye has been postponed again for representations to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). He appeared briefly at the Johannesburg Magistrate Court wearing a pantsula military, white sneakers, green two piece with the shirt unbuttoned revealing his white vest. Jub Jub was accompanied by his two uncles, cousin as well as two bouncers.
POSTPONEMENT
His defence Advocate Terrence Baloyi asked for a postponement stating that he needs to submit representation to the DPP. "Your worship we have asked for a postponement, from here, we will go straight to the DPP to submit our representations. We would ask for the next date to be in April, " he requested. The matter was previously postponed for the defence to make submissions to the state for representations for a way forward. Jub Jub is facing an array of charges ranging from multiple counts of rape, indecent assault, assault with an intention to cause grievous bodily harm and several counts of kidnapping. The matter was brought forward by three complaints, who are well known celebrities and dated Jub Jub in the past.
INVESTIGATION COMPLETE
State Prosecutor Agnes Bezuidenhout did not oppose the postponement and previously emphasised that they had completed their investigations and ready to proceed. "I have indicated to the defence that we have given them all the information that we could, and he said they will request for a further postponement. As the state, we are not opposing to that, however, the investigation to this matter has been completed a long time ago, the defence has been provided with an annexure to the charges, "she said. The matter has been postponed to early April.
