DJ Tira pleads for keys of his expensive car after he forgot them inside an e-hailing car

DJ Tira is offering a reward for his G-Wagon car key

Music producer and DJ Tira, whose real name is Mthokozi Khathi, recently found himself in a predicament when he forgot his Mercedes G-Wagon car keys inside an e-hailling car. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday, 2 March, when DJ Tira took an Uber ride to OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. However, upon reaching his destination, he realised that he had left behind the key to his prized possession.

HE TRIED TO REACH OUT

In a social media post, DJ Tira reached out to the Uber driver in question, requesting him to return his car key. He said that he had been trying to report the incident on the Uber app but did not get any joy. The post garnered a lot of attention from his fans and followers, who expressed their concern and support for him. Some even shared their own experiences of losing their belongings in an Uber ride and how they were able to get them back.

REWARD OFFERED

The musician also offered a reward of R5 000 for the driver to return the keys. Speaking to ZiMoja, Tira said cutting a new key and programming it might set him back over R12 000. "The driver should know that I am not blaming him, it's all my fault. I was careless. All I need is for him to reach out and give me the key back. I would really appreciate it and reward him," he said. Tira said ever since losing the keys he is scared that it might end in the wrong hands. "I am not accusing him of anything but as DJ's we post our whereabouts all the time, anything is possible, someone might come while I am playing and take the car. I'm just scared that the key might end in the wrong hands, "he said.
